I haven't used it for a while, but the local boat launch from the beach used to be reasonably priced, and the tractor driver would spot you coming back and have your trailer all in position when the saw you heading in, so you had a quick winch and a tow up to the boat park. They were bloody good with sharing their experience based advice too.

Despite that, there was often some smart arse that thought they knew better and launched themselves. The look of fear on their faces when they tried to get it back out and their 4x4 was axle deep in sand and the tide coming in, was worth paying good money to watch. They still couldn't understand why the tractor drivers prioritised people they'd launched, and couldn't be swayed no matter how many ££'s they waved at them or how much they said their car was worth.

I know someone that launches further down the coast, and he just refuses to get involved with them altogether. He reckons if they're dim enough to do that, they shouldn't be on the road or the sea. Generally one of the other boaters would help, but he really would go home and leave them.

Bosham is quite busy with a large area which despite BIG signs sayin that it is tidal and not to perk, people know better....

Hours of fun!
