St Florence Mill Pembrokeshire

Situated on the once tidal Ridal river this water mill was in use until the 20th century when it became derelict. The river has long since stopped being tidal in around 1820 with the coming of the railway to Tenby whose embankment blocked the tide.

I'd have to investigate properly but I think the river now goes under the town and exits through a pipe on the South Tenby beach.

Carew Tidal Mill, Pembrokeshire

The only intact mill of it's kind in Wales, the mill pond was filling when I visited.

It's also a museum though I was too early for it to be open.

Old Wharf and Buildings, Aire/Calder Navigation
Nearly put this in canals but as this is also the site of the former Knostrop Cut Island, which was removed as part of Leeds flood alleviation scheme.

Building are still in use, but it's a long time since a barge unloaded there.
