Has anyone made a cycling bucket list.

I have, and keep knocking them off as i do each one then add more.

I started with my first 25,then 50 which i did last year.I now want to do my first ton, came close but no cigar just yet.

I wanted to ride to Southport from my home town which i did two months ago.

I have several others minor ones which i wont bore you with here.

My new target is what i call the three peaks challenge. That is to ride up Parbold Hill then Beacon Fell and onto Sheephouse lane in Rivington then back home.Three leg busting climbs in one ride.Hopefully will be doing that next week.

Anyone else got such a list?

Never had one though have thought about making one.
Will have to have a think.

Scotland!

I have cycled the English and welsh Coast, but only done Scotland as far as Edinburgh / Glasgow

The issue is that some of these area are not best suited to solo touring in February / March when my time is available

I don't have an actual hard list but I set a wee challenge and go for that. Then when I've done that I set another.

There's a wee steep hill round here that flummoxed me the first 2 times I took it on but I managed it at the 3rd attempt.
Now I've got my eye on that sod of a hill in South Birmingham... da da daaaaah... ROSE HILL!!

Because the last time I took on Rose Hill I had to stop twice. Eventually got to the top but wished I'd done it in 1 go.

As for distance I remember my first 15 mile ride back in spring last year and it wore me out. Then I did 20... then 25 miles and so on. Eventually I did a 80 miler. It took me hours to do it with some seriously long stops but for me it was a success.
My current target is to ride for around 40-50 miles, stop at a hotel, read a good book while loafing around, sleep, then ride back home the next day. Not much of a challenge but that's my plan anyway.

I did the 90 mile ride around Skye last year, and i cannot see anywhere in world being as stunning as that ride, the Cuillin mountains are just something else

Not bucket as such but thought about a different goal each year- this year couple of sportives, next year a 100miler, then some cycle touring, keep it fresh!

Problem is also partially fulfilling.

ON mine was the Northern Lights, so went off to Iceland earlier this year.

For a week we had a fantastic time, but no lights.

Then one nght we had an hour or so of one ofthe most spectacular things I have ever experienced...... to be told it was a very poor show.

I now want to go back again as if that was a poor show, I cannot wait to see a a mediocre or (hopefully) spectacular show
