First outing in the dandy, I haven’t bothered with the front door. Unit up and sorted 20/30mins….awning an hour. We will get quicker or buy a driveway one for ease. Pendle hill in the background. 🌞

The two night test trip turned into six🫣
A three nighter already booked for the Llyn peninsula for the end of the week, the Volvo again on faultless duty. It was nice to have a relatively empty car, the dandy can fit SO much inside it!
The bonus is over the week our 5 yo had her stabilizers removed a day before we went and now has mastered riding and progressed onto zooming round the site. A new world has now opened for our family. 😎

I guess I should have posted some of my camping trips before, but.. 🤷‍♂️

I try and get away for a few nights, every now and then, with my daughter, a couple of times a year for some decent hiking around the Peak District.
MrsPete would rather stick pins in her eyes than sleep a tent!!

Last week, I popped up to a campsite near the Monsal Trail for one night. Boy, was it hot 🫠
As it happened, I was the only inhabitant in, I guess, a 6 acre field 😂

Not just because of the heat, I started both main hikes before sunrise..

With a 9 mile hike around Winnats Pass on Tuesday and an 11 mile hike along Baslow, White, Froggat & Curbar Edges on Wednesday (plus a few shorter walks & a few miles on the Brommie around Eyam) , I deserved a swim to cool down, even though the water in the open air pool in Hathersage was narly 30°c!

Back home on Wednesday afternoon.

Next planned outing is a night away locally with grandson. Cycling & fishing, probably.. 👍

That's very warm for that pool. Apparently the Wye is 27c and asking people not to 'kayak' as it pushes the fish into shallower and hotter water. Sale Waterpark was 25c yesterday morning - that's boiling for that massive area of water - my wife was swimming there.

The 'normal' temperature for Hathersage pool is a heated 22/23°c, even in winter, but with last weeks sunshine it actually felt hot diving into it!
I've swum there in February and tge worst bit is getting to & from the water over frosty grass 😂
