I'm listening to Classic Rock radio. They've just had the Foo Fighters (what a crap name) on. Why are they rated so highly? It's all gravelly voiced shouting crap to me.

I don't think anyone has or indeed would. Along with Killing Joke, they were definitely one of the best things to emerge from the weird anarchist (post-)punk scene in the 1980s... I remember hearing Vengence way back when and realising that they had totally nailed England as a country. Here's 'Notice Me', which apart from having their trademark lead bass playing, sounds lyrically even more relevent than ever...

Does that mean you prefer Maiden with Paul Di Anno or Blaze Bayley? Killers and X Factor are probably my favourite two albums, but Bruce's voice is pretty incredible both in terms of range and longevity.

Yes, Paul DiAnno. Having said that, on Iron Maiden & Killers the best tracks are the instrumentals imo. Also, Blaze who? Number of the Beast is a classic album so credit to Bruce for that. Powerslave & Seventh Son are also good but the rest are meh.

Actually, I agree with that, but it is now what a lot of people in the US consider to be country and what largely gets played on the commercial country radio stations.
