Zeus frame

Good morning everyone. I've been looking at a size 58 Zeus frame which is going for a decent price and the seller seems reliable, at least, has a few nice frames on sale. I was wondering what you can tell me about this one. The seller says it dates from 1965-69. I notice the mudguard lugs, would this have been designed as a touring/general purpose road bike? Any guesses on the type of thread/diameter of the bottom bracket and steering column? What sort of components were generally fitted on Zeus bikes of this period? I'm assuming it takes 700c wheels. I can ask the seller but haven't done so as yet.

Zeus had their own components, similar in design to Campagnolo, so I would expect it to have those originally.

Interesting frame. Apparently it's a Spanish make. Very plain lugs so not high end. Looks like it's been resprayed and new decals applied. Is that really 531 tubing? Probably made for 27" wheels.

Lugs on the OP frame are a different design and the shore lines are very thick. The decals are on the wrong tubes and the 531 decal is from the wrong era.

Looks like a cheap-ish frame that happens to have Zeus dropouts that someone has stuck Zeus and 531 decals on.

This might, indeed, be a Zeus frame but might not be a high-end one. The tubing might be straight-gauge Falck or Reynolds tubing - weighing the frame and fork would be a good way to find out unless you have access to an x-ray machine or other means of detecting the butted ends, if they are there.

The threading is going to be probably metric (French headset, French or Swiss BB) but that's not a problem to fit.

The fork end and dropout eyelets are not *necessarily* indicators of a touring frame design:
eyelets came on many racing frames simply to facilitate the addition of fenders for winter training.
