Hmmmm... I'm tempted to pop a daffodil bulb into each of the hoof holes so that in the Spring we will have a floral map of where Ermintrude grazed our lawn.

Good idea, though when the flowers bloom and are viewed from above you may find she's written "Ha ha humans ur lawn is wrecked" ;)

I'm still alive with no sign of stiffness, not in my neck at least. I wouldn't dare report the farmer to the RSPCA - you don't want to make an enemy of your neighbour if he's a farmer! Anyway his cattle look in better condition than the specimens I've seen around some Lancashire hill farms where many farmers are teetering on the brink of financial and mental collapse.
