Why do so many people want to have a drink with football managers? All you'd get would be a handful of clichés.

For an interesting night out:

Boris Johnson
Michael Palin
Sarko (you'd need a few drinks to keep up with this one)

I once made the mistake of approaching someone I recognised from a band when I saw him in the theatre bar. It was possibly the most embarrassing experience of my life; he looked at me like I was shite on his shoe then turned away to talk to somebody more interesting. Never again.

A sensible answer would be seriously talented musicians in the calibre of

Phil Collins
Paul Weller
Eric Clapton

They would all have some good stories to tell and if you tire of their conversation, you could ask them to sing a song

i'd happily bomb the pub…

You took the question way too seriously.

I didn't actually mean wanna be big brother types I was just meaning famous people. I.E musicians, actors, writers etc............. celebrity was just the word I used.
Fair enough. Er, well in that case...

I think I'd prefer to go and watch them perform, read their books (whatever).

What could I possibly say that would interest such a person? It would be like me trying to ride alongside a top pro up Alpe d'Huez. I'd rather just watch them do it.
