Nein, contact lenses. Were you in a CC jersey? I was mostly in a brown merino long-sleeve thing. On an old Trek with red bar tape and a dodgy silver paint-job.

A rather nice old Trek if I may be so bold as to say so, though she seemed to drop her chain after the Beacon iirc...

We need name tags next time ('tif lovely bag, but badges is what we need!!!). There were so many people there that night and I have to say I kept my head down for a lot of it. Yes, had a CC s/s jersey, black arm warmers and blue gilet so it was covered up most of the time. Couldn't miss me though; I had left knee covered with elastic bandage (a la Simon) and a light green colouring as I went uphill.

why did some go over the gate rather than down the path? and don't say because it was there....

Strangely enough, I didn't try and lift my bike over that gate, and sensibly nobody offered! MacB can probably agree with the ill advisement of doing that.

I have to say I had a good run with the Bromptonite through the final bits of darkness. He was really motoring at one stage. Who was that?

Why thank you. The frame and forks were skip-rescue stuff. Yes that was me. I'd put a triple on in a hurry as I didn't fancy Ditchling on a double, and been a bit cavalier with the high limit screw. Cue a nice chunk out of the new Tiagra cranks...

Another porky pie put to bed.
Grumpy Greg.
He's not Grumpy...he's fun! He may be a bar tape fetishist but hey! - it takes all sorts. That's him on the left, wincing, as a selection of wenches from rent-a-hen arrived for the early take off (and some of them looked as though they had taken most of it off already) to Lagamuff...or somewhere like that.

Three lovelies heading for a training camp in Spain. The one in the middle seemed to want to come with us, but the other two looked as though they had already done too many Friday Night Rides...

That's Clive giving his bike a friendly pat before the off by the way. And is that Marylin in the middle? Speak up please...so little time, so many people.

you got that from a skip? wow. nothing like that in skips around here. She can wear her scarred cranks with pride - it makes a good story "There I was final stretch of London to Brighton flat out on the ditchling road when...:troll:

BTW why are so many men on this forum obsessed with what theclaud looks like?

Dear Frustrated,
It's easy to interpret how you must be feeling.
There are some who disguise their true feelings by making others culpable for their thoughts.
Sign up to the programme. Dr Simon and his therapists will help alleviate this condition by offering a short sharp choc then a breakfast denial test. You'll enjoy the first and fail the second.

Yours sincerely,

Dr A.Crackpot.

Theclaud?

Average. For a godess.:troll:

sounds a great ride, you lot.

BTW why are so many men on this forum obsessed with what theclaud looks like? Though TBH I am as guilty of that as anyone... I'd love to meet Simon & all of you too, must therefore sign up

To be fair most FNRttC peeps, male or otherwise, are 'obsessed' with what every other FNRttC'er looks like and what their real names are, etc., etc.. Hence some of us change our appearance, or our bikes in some cases, from time to time to keep people guessing....

Did anyone get the names of the most very excellent fun dutch girls shown in the matching blue tops in tefs picture above?

Ah Greg - I was wondering about them too.
richp and I were remarking, whilst sightseeing on Ditchling, about how flat Holland is. I thought it was gently undulating...

...and one of them is a cousin of the third who lived in London + a friend etc...and their names are..?

Were they not being escorted by the chap that Simon and Adrian bundled back to Londres in a train with bits of dangling wheel?

he was the chap who asked mattj and I "excuse me what is... bollard?" after the short but embarrassing safety briefing at HPC. Probably ought to bear that in mind in future!

Did we not also say that Holland is probably too young a country for an invasion by the English:ohmy:
