That's probably it in a nutshell. If it's based in Europe they will have Amstel and Heineken. Based in America and it will be the Miller or Budweiser. Bass is the red herring to tempt Brits to book, but due to supply problems it will never be available.

indeed, i get proper excited on Bass..lol ,,my mate jumped off the town bridge into the river Nene after a gallon a few yrs ago..i was to drunk to climb the wall

Certain of my friends refer to Bass as "Stinking Bass", and with good reason. Have you smelt it? Chemical fug, with overtones of sulphur dioxide.

To be fair, I can see a potential issue with cask conditioned beer on a boat.

Fair enough, but substituting it with Mexican bottled beer is a step too far, surely? Even I won't stoop that low.

Im very much looking forward to jumping on the P&O Brittania in september for 14 days of cruising around the canaries, madeira and portugal. It suits me and my partner down to the ground with her illness and is by far the best way to holiday as far as im concerned.

But each to their own opinion i suppose.
