Hair clipper oil on chain?

I last changed hairstyle sometime in the mid nineties when lack of hair meant a crew cut looked better. What pissed me off was the barber charging more than he did for a short back and sides despite the whole process taking half as long. So I bought my own clippers.
They came with a small bottle of clipper oil, which ran out sometime around the millenium. They've not been oiled since with anything. They still work fine.

On the other hand I find bike chains work best with regular lubrication.

Depends how much friction you generate. Lard works a treat at any cadence above 350 rpm.

You missed it I guess.
 
I have always bought and used "Rock n Roll" lube because that is what the local bike shop had recommended after purchasing my new bike. You essentially cost the chain and then rub dry. Seems to work well.
