+1 for the Manta

Mk I/II Escort does something for me too. Seem to be in high demand at the moment as well, judging by Ebay prices.
I'd want a modern engine in it as well. A Ford (Zetec / Duratec) to keep some of the heritage intact.
A car the rally drivers seem to love - and still rally even now.

I had a Lancia Beta...but wanted the Delta.
I saw one in a local garage....all gleaming red, it looked immaculate

Convinced the wife to come and have a look....took a good look round it, till i looked underneath
I swear the top half was immaculate...but the entire floorpan looked as though it would just fall off. Everything below the sills was absolutely ROTTEN.
Ah well....maybe not this one then.
