He did, right enough, but I said that sartorially a chap didn't wear those anymore. I recall we often had the conversation and the chap seemed to take it quite badly - often had to take some tea in order to cover his disappointment.

And was he by any chance under the impression that there was a large bovine, colloquially referred to as a buffalo in the United States, in the bathroom?

Goodness yes, he did. I never caught sight of it though - but I know it visited because the water closet smelled simply awful after he'd been in there with it.

I don't understand the bands, I've seen a 2 bed bungalow with a small garden that's an E and a 4 bed house (was 2 separate houses now into 1) with a large garden which is only a C, both in the same town. It looks like they hike up the bands on newer builds, you rarely see a new house under a D band.
