new triple chainset

Hi every one, I replaced my suntour triple with a shimano with the same ratios. For what ever reason it will not go to the lowest gear, as if this chainset is too close to the bike frame. Do I need a different bottom bracket or what am I doing wrong?

You probably need to adjust the stop screw on the mech so it allows the cage to move further inwards.

Chainsets vary considerably on shape, some are far more concave than others and it is possible that the new one is simply not compatible with your bike. It may need a longer or shorter axle than the previous one did to maintain a good chain line. Assuming that it is not too close to the bottom bracket or catching on the chain stay it may be possible to adjust the front derailleur by loosening the L screw on the front derailleur a turn or so.
