Tuesday morning arrive at the usual cafe after a long and at times fast ride with a couple of friends. Walking up the steps on Look cleated shoes, made the first one OK, suddenly, my feet are above the level of my head and my backside and left elbow are hitting the pavement with a sickening crunch!!
Large swelling comes up on elbow, left buttock hurts like hell and finger broken at the tip.
So I'm off the bike for the forseeable. This wouldn't be so bad, but I knew I needed new cleats and went to the LBS for a new pair the previous Saturday. They only stocked those with covers and I did not wish to pay for the extras I already owned. The proprietor stated that the last few orders only came with covers and he couldn't promise that his next batch would be any different!
Even with new cleats it may still have occurred, but it seems that my penny-pinching has cost me dear!!
Anyone know where I can obtain Look Keo cleats without covers? :becool:

You have my sympathy Giro. Have had more than one body/pavement interface as they like to call it nowadays.

Get well soon.
