So, 264 for 5, pretty evenly balanced, I'd say.

Aussies 264 for 5 – England Lead by 166
England ahead by a nose – albeit a short one – with some batting still to come from the Aussies – Haddin has been known to stick about a bit – and another two innings to go
England went about their business well yesterday – Anderson got the early wicket of Warner with the ball still swinging a bit – persistent rather than spectacular bowling – Broad bowled well, good line and length only using the short ball as a surprise weapon –Wood showed that he is good enough at this level and was rewarded with the wicket of Rogers - Moeen was knocked about a bit but didn’t crumble and got two good wickets – Stokes was a bit patchy early on but bowled better later on and got Voges near to the close of play – Cook had a good day in the field (apart from losing track of which part of his anatomy he should use to stop the ball) - When the ball stopped swinging he didn’t over attack – recognised that stopping the runs would be the most effective way of getting wickets and put catchers in front of the wicket – ringed the changes well and kept faith with Moeen when he was taking a bit of stick
430 is still a good score – but not a brilliant one - unless the new ball does the trick this morning then it is likely that the Aussies will get a first innings lead

Great start by England – Broad and Wood bowling a good length and getting Watson and Lyon – Excellent new ball bowling by Broad and Anderson – taking out Haddin, Johnson and Starc - England in the box seat and a couple of lengths ahead but it is only half time - still a couple of rounds to go
