£18 Frankenbike lives

A seized up old Trek 800 off gumtree for a tenner, four quid cables and chain from Asda and everything else from my spares box, its a bit of a mish mash and the rear wheel still isn't true but I've got a smooth changing road legal mountain bike to have a good old play on again. It's going to live at work, which is 2 minutes from Clayton Vale MTB tracks for the summer whilst I see if I can remember how not to crash all the time and can then be my winter commute hack.

It'll get a front sus fork at some time when pennies aren't as scarce but will keep me thinking about controlling the front properly in the meantime.

Don't bother with suspension, you really don't need it despite what the cycle industry will tell you.
