A fashion designer to the stars pursued a cyclist in her Audi TT and deliberately knocked him off his electric bike after he kicked the side of her car during a row.

Lamis Khamis, 42, whose designs have been worn by famous names including model Cara Delevingne, musician Chris Brown, and Paris Hilton, launched her own brand in 2001 after graduating from Camberwell College of Arts and setting up a stall in Portobello Road Market.

At Isleworth crown court, she pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and without a valid MOT on May 17 last year.

The prosecution dropped a more serious charge of dangerous driving.

The court heard she was behind the wheel of her black 2.0-litre Audi when she got into an argument with a man riding an electric-powered bicycle at a roundabout near Shepherd’s Bush Green.

The cyclist kicked the side of her car, causing a dent that needed a £300 repair, the court was told, and Khamis pursued him.

She drove her vehicle into the bike at low speed and knocked the rider to the ground.

Passing sentence yesterday, Re-corder John Gallagher told Khamis: “There was an incident between the pair of you at the roundabout and at some stage your vehicle was kicked and you followed him.

“He rode off, but because his cycle had no registration plate you followed in an attempt to obtain details from him.

“You, in an attempt to stop him, drove into him and he fell off his cycle. Your actions were deliberate, but it was not a case of running a person down because you were only travelling at 10mph and he sustained no injuries.”

However, the judge highlighted that the cyclist “might well have been injured” and Khamis did not consider the risks.

He added: “You are a mature lady who has never been in trouble with the police in the past, and you have a clean driving licence and in 20 years have had no disqualifications.

“It was an act that resulted in a cyclist being knocked off his bicycle and you failed to consider the alternatives.

“I accept on your part it should not be described as road rage.”

The designer, of North Kensington, was fined a total of £600 and given six penalty points on her licence.

There we have it. Deliberately hitting a cyclist with your car, and admitting it, isn't dangerous.

She graduated with a fine art and sculpture degree and describes her work as “just as much art as fashion”.

Sounds like both parties are numptys. Everyone does something daft at some stage though and hopefully she'll learn her lesson.
A shame the cyclist seems to have gotten away with £300 worth of damage though

Does this mean something different to what's written, I don't understand it.

So basically, it's OK to knock cyclists over with your car because bikes don't have registration plates.

Agree with @Drago though. The situation ought to have been de-escalated long before this happened. It takes a big man to just walk away.

So she's on the road...and she's in a rage...and she's harrassing the man...and then feels the need to knock him off his bike...doesn't that fit the definition?

And how's he gone and earned £600 out of it?

And how's she still got a licence?

Didn't even have an MOT, so her insurance can't have been valid either?!?

Puzzled.

The CPS won't usually prosecute for MOT document offences if the vehicle subsequently passes and earns a ticket within 7 days. Don't ask me why, no other type of criminal gets 7 days Grace to put their offending right.

She was fined £600, he doesn't get that.

That was road rage, how could it not be? As @User says, criminal damage from him and assault with a car from her. I can't work out why if someone has used their car to deliberately hit someone, injures them, why it is not a Section 18 offence?
