I have every sympathy for her injuries but it seems a trifle excessive. There is an injury risk in virtually everything we do and I know she says she was encouraged but I'm sure they didn't put a gun to her head.

I'm not suing due to greed But due to loss of earnings, a likely private HC bill and a hole in my leg (and a swollen ankle) and a new helmet!

The one thing that none of us can judge is how she actually feels and how her life has been affected by 'just' a soft tissue injury. Says she suffered a cruciate injury and no surgery but that could open her up to all sorts in the future. Presumably it was the judge who settled on a figure based on Irish law after listening to arguments from both sides, medics etc?

Did they? I doubt it. If they did their insurance would be null and void. It's the insurance that accepted liability.

After that, you'd need another €37,000 to send your bike off to a frame builder to be re-enforced
