which the old boy on the door always smiled at.
I used to go occasionally to mid-week games (I played every weekend) at Chelmsford. I knew two of the fellas on the gate, one of them being my mate's dad, so I always got in free. But some mates of mine played for Essex anyway, so never had problems getting tickets. And into the members' bar afterwards for a few beers with both sets of players.

The good old days of the 80s and 90s.

Hang your heads in shame!

None of you suggested that it was the wheel arrangement of a monorail locomotive. The give away was the single wheels....
Not necessarily. It could have been built by British Leyland, then one wheel per axle could be considered half a job and you'd be pleased that they put that much effort into it.

British Leyland didn't build locomotives....
Technically you are correct but there was a locomotive based on a Leyland National
