Wow! How many bikes do you keep at home? What happens when you've ridden them all to work?
In Los Angeles you can put the bike on a rack on the front of the bus

5,000 miles cycled and 175lbs is my goal.
I've slashed my bread intake, and cut out the fizzy drink!
Keep on keeping on.
You have a major advantage over us poor souls in that you're pretty much guaranteed to have good cycling weather year round. One word of warning though. Cycling regularly is no guarantee for achieving your ideal weight. I've been doing 5,000+ miles per year for the last 4 years, and I'm still (a bit) overweight! I've got legs like tree trunks, but still carry a bit extra around the middle. Of course, that's down to my diet, which as of 2 weeks ago I've changed. No more chocolate, I've slashed my bread intake, and cut out the fizzy drinks. Hopefully, I'll be down to my target of 12 stone by March.
Of course, regular cycling has made me fit for my age (41) and probably a darn site fitter than most 25 year olds, but after all the recent articles on added sugar I've drawn a line in the sand and I'm taking a stand!
Welcome to CycleChat David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Right on, Black, say no to fast carbs...
I figured New Years is the perfect time to get excited about me cycling to work and all the great benefits that come with it. I commute 17 each way to work. Most days, I'll ride the bus back home because it's a bit of a grind being 40years old and weighing in at 208lbs on January 1, 2014. Of course, my ultimate goal is to completely cycle round trip each day. Anyhow, each Friday I'll weigh myself in and post results along with current miles cycled with my commute. I figure this is a GREAT way to keep track, stay focus, get support and build momentum. 5,000 miles cycled and 175lbs is my goal. As of now, I'm at 119 miles in. Please wish me luck and support me. Feel free to chime in on your results if you are doing the same. God speed to all of us!!!!!
we must be similar, although I can defo feel the difference in my clothes, my weight is the same nearly 15 stone are there abouts. Climbing hills is the issue but can get the power down on the flats.
