10 speed chain on 9 speed cassette

Will a 10 speed shimano 105 chain fit a 9 speed Shimano Sora cassette ?

Get a 2nd Opinion but I guess it'd work its just a bit narrower, if it was a bit wider it'd be a problem; whether there subsequent problem with it derailing too easily if limit screws aren't adjusted

It would work but would also last less. The chain plates are narrower on a 10 speed chain.

It will work. I run a 9 speed chain on the best bike, which is 8 speed (mainly as the chain I wanted is only 9 speed now). Ideally just get a 9 speed chain !

Reason for this is I am doing a C2C with the wife and don't want to carry 2 chains. Thought about a powerlink but that would potentially shorten the chain by a few links.

Do you mean you are going to take a spare chain? On a a 150 mile trip?
