very good movie imo

I'll have to wait for the repeat but the book was irritating, the guy was so obviously an accident waiting to happen. Danny Boyle makes good films though.

I was watching and recording it. Had to turn over :stop: and will return to it when I've done an hour of meditation in advance and am not due to sleep for a good 10 hours.

Is this the bloke who cut a limb off with a swiss army knife? was in a fight with a bad guy who turned out to be his Dad, but he wasn't bad after all, then he took over running the Mafia, and won a running race despite being a God-botherer, and drove a car off a cliff rather than get captured, and finally flew his house away with a whole load of baloons before chucking the ring into a volcano?

Better?

My wife is doing the ironing, that means she gets to watch recorded episodes of Castle:thumbsdown: I've recorded it so I'll need to wait until she is in bed.

Based on a true story, yes.
As is usual, it has been jazzed up a bit for the film. The bit about the girls and the falling into the water down the cravasse is made up.
The sport he is doing is known as canyoneering.
Touching the Void is still my favourite true story film.

just finished watching it..tamer than I thougt it was going to be...but the reality must have been horrendous...the pain of sawing off your right arm with a blunt knife ...all alone ...I can think of better things to do in the grand canyon

I went to watch it with my cycling buddy who is a physician. The cinema was almost empty except for a couple in the row behind.... who he suddenly recognised as a colleague; a general surgeon and his wife!
