Ive been tinkering with my 1951 Sun and giving it a little more oomph with some spare parts I had hanging around in the workshop. The12-speeds will give this lovely little 26" wheeled gem a lot more versatility...

What type 26" wheels are they 11/4 or ??
Only asking as I need to sort some tyres for my Lenton that is running 26 X 11/4 wheels

Very Nice. Can you still get batteries for that Ever Ready or is it ‘converted’?
Can’t recall seeing an upgrade to 11 speed on your bikes before so is this your first ‘restomod’?

800 cell batteries long since gone sadly, I’ve an insert that takes C cells, old HP11

Traditional MTB wheels have a 559mm diameter.
650B tyres have a 584mm dimeter.

The wheels are 26 x 1-3/8" 650b tyres, Ive another bike with similar wheels but on closer inspection these were/are different.

26 x 1 3/8" tyres are 650A, 650B are 26 x 1 1/2".
