Took the youngest to Sherwood Pines yesterday with his new bike. It took him about 10 minutes before he was riding the easier trails like he'd been doing it for years.
He quickly found the limit of his 20" Kenda small block tyres - they seem good on gravel/hard pack but quickly filled with mud and left him with no grip - cue first fall, skinned knees and a (brief) reduction in speed.
I've been looking for some more aggressive tyres for him, but there doesn't seem to be much choice in the smaller wheel size. Can anyone suggest a decent off-road tyre for a 20" wheel - prefferably something that doesn't weigh more than the bike
Puncture resistance/wear are not primary concerns as the Kendas will be used for pavement riding.
