I just felt that I wanted to share this with somebody. I set myself a target of 2000 miles for 2012. Well, I have just achieved it with 3 months to spare. I know that to some folk 2000 miles is not a great deal but I had been away from cycling for many years and when I returned to the fold I never dreamed that I would get so much pleasure from It. I really feel as though I have achieved something.

Good work. What's the revised target for 2012, 2,667 miles?

Enjoy.

Hey nice one, me too :highfive:
Well actually I hadn't set myself a target but I had a look on the comp today and I'm just closing in on 2100. I'd have liked it to be more if I'm honest but the weather this year has been stupidly bad so it's pretty much purely from commuting and I don't live very far from work ;)

Another 1,000, that'll be a good target to work to for the remainder of the year.

One of my targets for the year was 3,000 miles across all bikes. As of yesterday I stood in at 2,681, currently 419 miles ahead of target for this point in the year (assuming linear mileage across the 12 months).

Hoping I might get to somewhere near the 3,000 by the end of the month and maybe then work towards 3,500 for the year.

I don't count my half mile commute, or popping to the shops, or my fortnightly station runs to pick up my son, which probably amounts to 3 hundred miles or so.

On "leisure" riding I've done about 1509, if mapmyride is to be believed.

I've not set or met any targets, no do I intend to re-set any before year-end!

Hope to do some sportives and a 150 miler next year though.
