Hi,

I've had my beloved Caad9 for a couple of years now and am pondering what to upgrade first; wheels, group set or something else?

I am looking to spend about £500 so am after the best recommendations for each option and which one to go with first.

Have considered:
Wheels - Shimano RS80 C24s, Mavic Ksyrium Elites
Group set - Shimano 105, SRAM Rival
Other stuff - FSA SL-K seatpost, 3T ARX Team stem, 3T Ergonova Team bar, Biologic iPhone 4 mount

Have also included the current spec below:
Frame: CAAD 9 BB30
Fork: Cannondale Ultra Carbon
Front Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra
Shifters: Shimano Tiagra
Chainset: Shimano Tiagra
Chainrings: 34/50 tooth chainrings
Bottom Bracket: Shimano Tiagra with adapter

Front Brake: Shimano Tiagra
Rear Brake: Shimano Tiagra
Brake Levers: Shimano Tiagra
Handlebars: Cannondale C3 31.8mm
Stem: Cannondale C3 31.8mm
Headset: Cane Creek CAAD9 SI
Rims: Shimano WHR 500A
Front Hub: Shimano WHR 500A
Rear Hub: Shimano WHR 500A
Spokes: Shimano WHR 500A

Upgrade your legs to a standard road double.

I have the same bike, albeit a triple.

What kind of riding do you do? Unless we know this an upgrade question is very hard to answer.

I suspect wheels and tyres would be the only things you would notice!

Perhaps lights for the forthcoming winter for some night training.

No need to spend £500.

Caad 9 is a great frame, I have a mate racing on the continent with one of those tooled out with Durace or SRAM Red. Another mate races and Ultegra equipped one. Re upgrade, it depends what you do with your bike and how strong you are. If racing is your thing, sort out a gear set that includes a standard racing chain set.. Try some really good fast tyres, the cheapest 'upgrade' for most bikes.
