Let's hope that they sent the V8 over, rather than the 4-cylinder

Edit @ 11:18
It seems that the GT is the 5.0litre V8
On an even more muscular note, on Sunday afternoon, as I was leaving work, there was a Vauxhall Monaro at the traffic-lights, by the Hospital grounds
What a glorious sound, even at idle
It was a silver one, I know of a red one that was local to me

We're going over for the Classic TT later in the year. The slighly lower key event, and less busy set up appealed more, as does the older machinery.

Thay said, you'd need balls of steel plus unbelievable skill to average 133mph on a road course. 'kinell that's fast. Hate to think what they are doing on the straight bits: 200+ presumably

IIRC some of the bits are also used for the Manx International Rally as well - Brandywell is, that i know for sure. There's a DVD around with in car footage from the early / mid 80s (Ari Vatanen / Opel Manta I believe) that's absolutely mindblowing...

I am sure the rally uses a few sections of TT course, but I think much of it uses smaller lanes and back roads, and some artificial straw bale chicanes, because there is a maximum average speed that cars are allowed to achieve in the competitive special stages. Progress, they call it.......

He obviously knew that he had dodged a bullet. But I think the question he was asking himself was whether he should tell Honda that the bike is basically unsafe to ride on Friday. Apart from anything else, it's not fast enough to stand a realistic chance of winning, unless all the really quick boys break down or fall off, so Guy knows he will literally be risking his life for no chance of a win. And on a bike which appears to have "issues".

Whereas, in the TT zero, he does stand a fair chance of ending top of the podium. Whether you regard that as a proper TT victory or not, is up to you.....

Visibly choosing his words, theres a Honda PR person behind the camera with a stern look on his/her face.

Be honest but don't sink our brand new SP2 that is nowhere near ready to race.
