He was one of the best (if not the best) first year juniors last year which put him firmly in my 'one to keep an eye on' list. Lost the GC lead on stage 2 to his German team mate, Karl Herzog, who is another prodigiously talented 16 year old. Proper climbing and a mountain top finish in today's stage. It'll be interesting to see how they all do.

And another podium for Bella 🇨🇦 - yay!

Noah Lindholm was second on the queen stage and only mtf of the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour yesterday, with Noval coming in a few seconds later in 4th. It was enough to leapfrog his teammate Karl Herzog for GC lead, with Noval climbing to third place.

Lindholm also leads a Team GRENKE - Auto Eder 1-2-3 in the points jersey and is in the KoM jersey as well. Youth jersey is currently held by Herzog and you'll never guess which team are leading the team competition.

Two very tough stages still to ride, no boulevard sprint finishing stage for these kiddos (and they'd be too young to be sipping champagne anyway)

Bit confused by his name, but I'll adopt your Noah Lindholm rather than his surnames as per PCS which I've been using until now. Anyway, had a chance to catch up on stages 2 and 3.

Stage 2 was a climb then a flat finish. About 12 riders went over the climb in the lead group which contained 3 Grenke (Noah Lindholm, Herzog and Schoonvelde) , Noval and the promising Brit Matthew Peace. Herzog managed to get away solo. He was chased by a group of 4 which included Noval but was hindered by the inclusion of Schoonvelde. Noah Lindholm belatedly set off in pursuit accompanied by Peace but, despite cooperating well, were unable to catch group 2. Herzog took the win and Schoonvelde predictably sprinted away from group 2 for second place. Grenke are the dominant junior team and made excellent use of their numbers.

Stage 3 coverage was pretty ropey (at least there was coverage!) with the camera almost exclusively followed Vervoort, the solo lead rider (who held on to win from a breakaway). From what I could make out the yellow jersey group remained together until the final kilometre or so and the gaps were created from a sprint to the line. Vervoort was attempting to zip up his jacket before crossing the line and making a meal of it when Noah Lindholm zoomed into view. Fortunately for him, Vervoort managed to just hang on.

First time I've seen Noah Lindholm and he looked pretty small to me, certainly not your typical Danish powerhouse. From what I've seen, he's looked the strongest rider in the race, only losing time on stage 2 due to the team dynamics. Noval hasn't looked out of place in this company but nor has he stood out. That said, Grenke are such a strong team and use that strength to their advantage so well that it would be incredibly hard for any individual not on that team to stand out.

Another 240 UCI points for Astana in the self-styled Tour of Magnificent Qinghai GC, with 1st and 3rd.

Mulubrhan winning with Harold Lopez in 3rd. They're hoovering up cleverly this year.
