I think I'm right in saying that, were he to win Roubaix, he'd be the first ever winner of the U23 Roubaix to do so. Unless, of course, Pidcock or some other recent winner of U23 Roubaix were to manage it in the meantime.

Somewhere, Marc Madiot is crying gently to himself.

I had to look it up btw, I don't have this stuff just sitting around in my head

GB 1-2 yesterday in the U23 Il Lombardia, Callum Thornley from Elliot Rowe

Got to question the timing of the Euros here - one of the most prestigious u23 races being run at precisely the same time as the u23 Euros. Both courses suiting a similar rider type as well. Worse than that, Oggiono is only about 5hrs drive from Guilherand-Granges, so if they'd just put them on different days riders could have done both.

As ever, joined-up thinking is at a premium in cycling 🙃

Uno-X came back from Langkawi with 254 juicy UCI points, they're now 443 points ahead of the floundering Cofidis and looking like they're solidifying their position in 19th - which is a WT licence if there's a merger between Lotto and Intermarche - though Cofidis have more races on their calendar. A lot may go down to results in the Italian races here, with Cofidis trying to catch up in China
