In the MJ ITT tomorrow we will get to see how good Benjamin Noval is at timetrialling, should be fun to watch.
Would expect him to win the RR but not sure how good he is at ITT

One of the girls in my class stayed behind today - her mum is a TA and had work to do so her daughter helped me with some bits and bobs to fill the time!! This girl is a keen and promising cyclist so I put Zoe’s victory up on the big screen in my classroom and we watched it together! Teaching is more than reading and writing etc. I hope she went away a bit inspired!

There's some decent juniors about. Gijs Schoonvelde (Netherlands) and Karl Herzog (Germany) who both ride for the ridiculously dominant Team GRENKE - Auto Eder should be in the mix as will, hopefully, Seff Van Kerckhove who rides for Belgium but was born in Thailand, which instantly makes him my favourite.

It’s not really on for big nations to send reduced teams on cost grounds. I can’t recall what entries were like when it was in Oz or Richmond but I can’t imagine it was much cheaper. Then all the other years where it is in Europe no-one considers the cost for teams travelling from developing nations. If we want cycling to become more global events like this need supporting. It’s also odd to find money to send junior riders but not to send a decent sized elite team.

IS there any danger that the Rwanda champs will be under-supported? It feels like plenty of big guns are there in every category (the winners I'm seeing seem like Usual Suspects). I haven't done a deep comparison with recent champs held in Europe, I admit.

In the Men's junior TT, my man took the bronze, just pipped for silver by Ashlin Barry (son of Michael once of Team Sky). Michel Mouris of Netherlands took the gold by a measly but significant 6 seconds. Noval was outside the top 10.
