I’ve put it down as a spoiler thread just in case but just general chat for now. It’s obviously quite a momentous event being the first in Africa and potentially the hardest ever route.
The GB team has been announced and from what I can see there are no women in the elite road race with Henderson being the only selection but only doing the TT. Am I missing something or, if not, why aren’t there any in the elite road race?
Decent looking men’s team with both Onley and Pidcock as potential medalists.
Anyone done the the double before ....ITT and road race ?
I’m looking forward to these worlds. I too was initially grumpy about the lack of elite women but having listened to some podcasts I kind of get it. I believe the trip is very expensive and many counties are taking smaller teams due to cost and we don’t really have any elite women likely to medal. Georgi is injured. However we do have Backstedt AND Ferguson in the U23, both of whom could win. It makes sense to me.
Isn’t Zoe down to only do the TT?
and if you haven't ridden in it, then it isn't a game changer ?

So, watching the early starters in the women's TT, and I see some of the African riders are on road bikes, one didn't even have tri-bars on. Just something we should probably think about when we complain in Europe how expensive it is to take a team to Rwanda
