As an expat* that doesn't get home often (and when I do I rarely get outside inner London) it does my patriotic heart good to see those cheap, tatty, greying, Chinese-made Union Jacks flapping from the nation's flagpoles.



*An expat is someone who has emigrated to another country. Another word for it is "immigrant", if you look at it from a different direction
