The Swiss races are struggling financially. Both Switzerland and Austria have incredible cycling terrain, but neither has ever really had much of a cycling culture (certainly compared to Italy or France). There are some incredible climbs in Austria, but bar the odd trip from the Giro, they're largely untouched by pro cycling, while we get all giddy about something that's largely garbage like d'Huez.
Hence Romandie missing 4 World Tour teams, despite being a World Tour race.
As for Turkey, their startlist is nothing like it was a few years ago.
