I have chippered for myself all WT races that ain’t GTs or classics.
a) Because it’s simple, like me.
b) I can’t remember Iain’s definitive guide on BR.
Ah yes, simpler times with Iain Forfar and French fighter: neckerchiefs for flamme rouges and jumpers for lycra tops. Marvellous.
I did manage to track it down on line a few years ago and it was probably one of the few artefacts worth saving from the wreckage of BR, but I fear it's gone forever now.
Regardless, Itzulia being the best week long race of the year is a category 1 hill I'm willing to die on. Nobody goes there and has a nice time. G described it as a little b@stard (actually no, that was Remco) but he did say "it was one of the hardest races on the calendar". He also said Spain's for holidays and not for cycling and never won a bike race there, so he might have had an agenda.
