I'm wondering if there was any pro cycling here before we came over - this area is like a BR refugee camp.

To be honest, I think there's more threads about cars than there is about bike racing. It is what it is, though: it's a community of people who had cycling in common about 15 years ago rather than a cycling community.

Just the 449 watt average for 90 minutes from MvdP, his all time best......
So yeah, you're right, he's a few percent off his peak!

I thought the same tbh. He didn't look invincible for once. But statistics don't always give the best picture, when else has he attacked from 60km and had to keep going until the end?

Yep, got that wrong. Definitely didn't look it at the end, so I'd love to see how that was distributed.
446W by the way, in the hope that 3W difference might make a difference for someone

Mads P out of Gent-Wevelgem-I'm-Not-Calling-It-That-Daft-New-Name with a bit of illness. Milan leads the Lidl-Trek team, with SKA as lieutenant

Have you seen Cosmo's meme about it: pretty much sums it up.
I think if they cut it down to 2 or 3 words it could stick. 'In Flanders Fields' sounds ok to me.

No, where is Cosmo found nowadays? I sort of lost track when he started getting copyright claims on his how the race was won vids

I just follow him in Facebook. He's still got his website too.

The good thing is that they demonstrated it is possible to chase down MVDP when he goes. They were really well organised right up to the last moment (group 3 also chased well). Hopefully it will give the message to other riders that it is possible to bring the superstars back when they go solo if they’re prepared to work together. Yes, they ultimately messed up but I can’t recall the last time MVDP nearly got chased down, they took back a minute.

Yeah he wasn't indestructible. The only worse example and debatable it was worse group 2 syndrome..was del Toro and carapaz ... Different in a GT

The peloton trying to let a 4 man break go, but still a lot of riders trying to slip away.
Looks quite breezy out there, so maybe later the klaxon could be required.
