On to Paris-Camambert tomorrow, finishing in Livarot, where the winner gets neither a whole wheel of Camembert cheese, nor any Livarot cheese either (much to their relief?)

Only one British rider. Presumably the others are taking part in London-Gloucester-Gloucester tomorrow instead, which actually finishes in Dymock (home of Stinking Bishop).

If ever you're in Livarot I can highly recommend a visit to the Fromagerie Graindorge. They have a little museum which has viewing windows on to the cheese production line. There's a gift shop/restaurant where you can get a cheese platter and a glass of wine/cider/apple juice at a very reasonable price.

Between them, they did, but could anyone explain the UAE pair's tactics there?

Not me - how Swinkels didn't go over the top when Wiebes finally dragged Gasparini back is as baffling as the day before. With 2 riders against the faster finisher in the peloton that was an odd decision because from that point they were both riding for a podium at best.

To whip up the excitement here's a picture of a couple of assiettes de fromage featuring Camembert de Normandie, Pont l'Évêque, Neufchatel and, of course, Livarot.

Is it olive oil in it? I've never really considered cheese as requiring extra fats, but I could probably be persuaded

Maybe for the salad

The weird spoon is usually used for a 1 mouthful course. It is more stable on the plate/platter and looks more fancy.
