Logic dictates that if he's still getting results in the one discipline but isn't performing well in the other, then he should be able to get results in either discipline. So instead of swallowing his pride he should get his priorities in order and drop one of the disciplines to focus on the other (which way round is entirely up to you, of course - is he wasting his time getting silver medals on the road and should be focussing on the all important Olympic gold team pursuit in LA? Or is he never going to win on the track unless he gives it his all so he should drop it and try and win a monument?)

Of course, there's no logic to the swallowing threads anyway, so have at it imo

SkIneNCI were famous for letting their riders go round in circles when it suited them. Maybe Ganna's change in employer will come with a track pride swallowage cost?

Great ride from Matt Bostock to take the scratch. Went off the front with quite a way to go and held off the bunch

Emma Finucane and Sophie Capewell both into the semifinals 2-0, they'll meet Liying Yuan (CN) and Mina Sato (JP) - not sure quite what the draw is, think China was fastest in qualifying and Capewell 2nd fastest - is that how they seed?

Finucane and Capewell have to face each other in the semi final tomorrow AM.

2 golds and a bronze for GB today.

Harry Livraison took another gold, this time in the keirin. How many medals does he have overall now? Good job he’s got the muscles to carry all of that metal

Lavreysen does have quite a bit of bling, doesn't he...?
I think this is up to date. He's still got an event more this year as well

Anna Morris wins the tempo race and takes the lead after 2 rounds of the omnium. Dideriksen is 3rd. Elimination and points races are later today. Lorena Wiebes crashed in the scratch race and abandoned.

In the IP, Frederik Madsen also went sub-4 and beat Ganna by 1s. So it’s Milan vs Madsen for gold, and Ganna vs Rasmus Pedersen for bronze.

Denmark just absolutely obliterated Italy in the team pursuit gold final - 3.4 seconds ahead at the finish, that's close to a catch. Ganna must already be uncomfortable on a Pinarello or something. GB Beat France by the same margin for the bronze.

That's Rasmus Pedersen's 5th World champs gold in team pursuit, and fourth in a row!

Frederik Rodenberg Madsen - Danish custom is usually to use the middle name, which is a family name - especially if the last name is one of the more boring ones like Madsen

I should have noted that he also has 5 team pursuit golds in the worlds, but I got confused for some reason (found the reason, he's listed as both Frederik Madsen and Frederik Rodenberg on wikipedia, and I was just checking names matched in various old medal teams)

Hmmmm.... Jonathon Milan has just swallowed the Lidl-Trek track pride swallowage cost to the tune of a world record and final place in the individual pursuit....

Mark Stewart wins the points ahead of Benjamin Thomas and Carlos Salguiero

Carl Frederik Bévort came fourth - a brave attempt to claim a lap saw him take the final sprint having caught some tail-enders but didn't get the lap and a medal

GB medal rain continues

Meanwhile, Finucane goes 1-0 up V Capewell
China lead Japan 1-0 in the other semifinal

Kopecky rides straight back into the competition with 2nd in the elimination
Anna Morris stays in the lead with a very solid 3rd. Berteau takes the win to go into third place
Dideriksen's 5th place sees her slip into 4th, I think it might be her least favourite disipline

In the sprint, Finucane wins 2-0 over Capewell, to meet China in the final

Both the medal races in the individual pursuit double Italy V Denmark head-to-heads went to Italy.
Milan went 4.02 in the final, where Rodenberg was a lot slower than previous rounds in 4.07.

EDIT: Those were the Ganna v Pedersen times. Milan v Rodenberg was 4.00 v 4.06
Revenge for the team pursuit I guess

Morris takes the gold in the omnium after a strange and defensive points race - the peloton were in two parts, neither could gain nor lose a lap
Japanese rider Tsuyaka UCHINO in second and Dideriksen in third

Meanwhile Capewell levels to 1-1 in the sprint bronze final
