Unlikely be true sadly. Connery is miserable b'stard and wouldn't have the wit send that.

Surely if he was that miserable it's what he would have sent. Not having met the guy, I don't know if he is a miserable bastard or not. Why do you? He certainly is no sycophant by all accounts.

Well true, that is the kind of letter a miserable sod might send but I feel he would deem it beneath him to even respond.
Of course I don't know him personally, but I have one friend who has worked on a film with him and I'm just going by his reports. Not only him though, a customer of mine works in the film industry in the wardrobe departments and she mentioned something similar in passing quite independently.
He comes across to me as a good actor but one who is kind of pompous and full of his own self importance.
I could be wrong.
They may be wrong. He might be a jolly fellow.

It is one of those quotes though!

'You are a computer salesman and I am James F@££$%% Bond"

I think the former was a far more profitable and longer lasting career than the latter!

Is the letter suspect?

Connery played Bond from 1962 to 1971. When this letter was dated (December 11th 1998) 4 other actors had played the role, with Pierce Brosnan in the role at that time so he could not really claim to be James Bond, or is it genuine and he was reliving past glories?
