i am in the process of building a mountain bike from second hand parts and have run into a problem. I have unsuccessfully tried to fit 700 wheels on forks suitable for 26" wheels. I have ordered new 26" wheels but wanted to know is the hub on 26" wheels normally wider than those on 700 wheels? I found when I tried to fit the 700 wheels there was movement because the hub was narrower than the frame. Hope this makes sense
