I take it by this you mean 3 is a bad network to sign up to. I haven't got them because there is a very poor reception in this area but they do seem to have some good deals. I was asking this because when i move I might consider signing up to them but if they are not that good reception wise generally, then i'll stick with vodafone.

What I wrote are facts about their network. 3 also used to have much worse coverage than it has had since about mid 2010. It used to be horrendous 5 or 6 years ago. What the signal will be like near where you live is down to pot luck. There is plenty of information in the public domain about where the operators macrocells are and what signal coverage is like (aside from the operator's own maps). It varies a lot. My network O2 has a very poor signal in nearly all houses I've ever lived in. If you see where the towers are located it is clear why this is so. If you run an analysis on a smart phone and do some number crunching it becomes very clear. The signal varies so much. A few streets away the vodafone signal is very strong, but over this side of the city vodafone is fairly weak. Orange is strong around here but large chunks to the west have patchy areas. T mobile is strong most places but not all. The 3 signal round here is actually one of the best. It depends where you live, where the base stations are, what is in the way, what phone you have.
