It's half day Friday and the heat is more to my liking so it was off for a fun 43 heat scorching miles. Expecting the temps and humidity to stick around for a bit so will have a great weekend out on the bike.

It's hard to believe that the Great Storm of '87 is now 32 years ago! I remember going out on my bike the next day or so and having to climb over fallen trees.

I helped my next door but one neighbour carry his garden shed back. It was rather blustery in Poole.

We lost a couple of roof tiles as well. Not that much damage on the roof, but the tiles slid down onto my almost brand new company car and smashed the windscreen and bonnet. Hadn't had the company car for long and then in '89 it was the stock market crash and was made redundant, but they let me buy the car off them. It was a Peugeot 505 family Est and could take my bike at the back without taking any wheels off (the bike that is) and it lasted me for about 12 years and over 200k miles (in the car that is).

@Zipp2001 , it's getting ready to cool down a bit in the Midwest, hopefully it will be just 3-4 days of this, that's about what it was here. I've been up around 35 for the past couple of days, and will be today, but tomorrow looks seasonal.
