Buy a cup of cafe con leche for 1 euro 20 or a local and you also get a ham and cheese toastie or a hot dog and popcorn in Cafe Lim in Santiago de Compostela.![]()
I'm sure it would be very very tight but am sure it could be done if you free camp and live on pasta/tinned tomatoes and don't drink. A bit more would clearly help. Inter-railed at the end of the 70s on £7 a day but that included the occasional dodgy pensione.I wouldn't try to eat out on 4 euros but I definitely could live on it from Spain's supermarkets.
i need to try it myself, this months budget has suffered a major set backs7ephanie, think of cheap supermarket food, or Aldi/Lidl fare. It could be done for €4 a day but it would be nought more than subsistence living.
Personaly , I wouldn't do it. One of the delights of France is fresh baked baguette and pastries, etc and I couldn't imagine going with that experience.
