I think Beefie Bertie has that set up for specific stages for racing ?
As others have said you would need you bike set up to be spot on to handle such a drop , i used to run a standard compact 50/34 and changed to a 50/36 so my legs didnt spin like crazy when i shifted to the smaller ring and it still gave me a low enough gear to handle anything i come across.
The rear cassette is currently an 11-28 10 speed so i have enough top and bottom end grunt .
