You'd think they'd have a strong lubricating effect.

More likely to dissolve them?

It happened a couple of times for about 30mins. Most likely an issue with the host. It quietly went away.

WHY IS NOBODY BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE HORROR WE ENDURED.

WILL NOBODY THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN

Seriously guys, it’s a non issue. Do people really need to be bothered if something isn’t right for a short while?

Can (depending on cause) be like a pothole. Starts small but grows. Report early and Highways have the option to repair whilst it's cheap and quick but leave it to grow until their rare surveys get round to passing and it's massive and several cyclists (even cars) have broken wheels & bones.

Nope. Nothing like fixing potholes. This wasn’t an issue with the site (my username is wrong, I can’t quote, my signature is all wrong …) but a server issue. It will be out of the mods and owners hands on the very likely assumption they don’t self host. All they’ll do is report it to the host.

But the host will have all sorts of monitors and will be well aware long before they get the support requests. . Hence it being fixed long before the mod acknowledged.

Just give it an hour for the host to resolve before bothering the mods and owners as all it’ll do is take their time and have no bearing on the outcome or time to resolve.

I have noticed other little things also starting to happen to forum performance. I think that Shaun probably doesn't have as much time as he used to have for software maintenance.

We are absolutely not bothered, the signalling of issues is welcome ^_^

Sadly you are correct.
He will be back though.

Absolutely. He'll get parole soon, you wait and see.

The whole incident was a travesty. Its not a crime to look like Burt Reynolds.

Unfortunately we now live in world where people expect 100% perfection all the time, and if it’s not delivered they need to be generously compensated.

It’s not that. It’s just a bit of patience before people start demanding attention of people.
