I think that's a little harsh on Italy. They made a fair go of it, especially in the first half. Good match all in all - a bit frenetic at times, but both teams tried to run, and play some proper rugby.

Aye, I suppose they did make a game of it for a while; so possibly I am being harsh. But the final score tells a tale; the Irish gubbed them.

The France/ Scotland game was amazingly poor. Both sides were poor. The pitch was poor. The endless re-set scrums were tedious. The line-outs were shocking. Scotland were naiive to lose that game. They should have controlled it much better. Anyone looking in from the southern hemisphere would be shaking their heads wondering how France only lost the World Cup final by 1 point, and can now be reduced to this.

I'm expecting something at the other end of the spectrum tomorrow.

Nature of the game is that good sides often get dragged down to the level of poorer opposition. The great sides don't let this happen to them.

Annoyingly I assumed that I was taping the match, but the Sky box in its infinite wisdom assigned preference to Teen Mom 3. If she's lucky I'll let my dearly beloved back in the house this evening...

An old manager of mine is at Twickenham today. He's a bit of a dick so I can't quite bring myself to hope for a Wales win. A draw would be my preference.
