6ft 3 on a 57cm frame

I am wondering if a 57cm frame would be too small for me at 6ft 3. It's touring style bike, so I am thinking it might be not too bad.

What size are any of you 6ft + guys riding?

5'11" and 57cm frame. Sizing does vary by brand though, but at 6'3" I'd have thought you'd need to be on something bigger than a 57cm. For gods sake try it before you buy it.

I am 6'3" and tend to opt for a 58 to 60 cm frame so I would think a 57cm should be ok.

I believe its the seat tube measurement that is 57cm. Its a Raleigh clubman bike. I guess the top tube/reach could be more important. Sounds like it might beworth a test ride.

My first road bike was a 58cm Specialized Secteur. The LBS said that in would be ideal for an 1812mm rider, ( a tad under six foot) and I didnt know any better. I rode it for a couple of years but it never felt quite right. Just too big, despite a number of different stems. I bought a 54cm Cinelli Experience two years ago. I might have shrunk a few millimetres in height, but the smaller bike feels just fantastic. The lesson for me was that I need to ride the bike rather than rely on some dodgy sizing chart based on height. There are so many more variables than just how tall you stand.

I'm 6'2" and have 3 road bikes all in 60cm frame size - there is slight variation between each but they all fit pretty good.

I agree. I have ridden a 60 cm bike, but I used a slightly shorter stem on that one (9 cm instead of my normal 11 cm).

I'm 6'6" and have two 58cm bikes. One is the commuter, the other for long rides up to and over 200 miles including LEL which it was specifically bought for. Both have the same geometry and are very comfortable so I reckon you'll be ok

6'4" with a 58 frame, a Large in Giant Road bikes, but XL on MTB. Most people pick a larger road frame for me, but then agree the 58 looks best, it certainly feels the best.

My advice would to try before buy, but at a minimum study the geometry charts carefully, be aware that each 58 can be very different. On a cube for example, I am at least a 61cm.

If you are talking proper measurements where the bike has a horizontal top tube, I would say it will be too small. The modern sloping top tube (MTB style)? I wouldn't like to say. I'm exactly six feet tall but suffering from Ducks' Disease as I do, bike sizes have always been a bit awkward.

I have a couple of off the peg frames both of which feel OK at 59cm. When I decided to have two frames custom built for me the builder settled on 57cm but with a longer top tube.

You're 3" taller than me and probably haven't been afflicted with DD. None of us can possibly be definitive about your proposed bike so try it with an open mind.
