been trying a few local TT before i join a club, not sure if im 50 or 52 up front but im consistantly changing from 11 to 13 and back again on the rear so i could do with a 11 12 13 combo then what ever
I've got a Shimano Hyperglide 7 speed 12,13,14,15,17,19,21 very little use, it came on my Dyna Tech but was no good for Derbyshire hills - any good to you?
Get one of these and if necessary something else to make one up to your heart's content*.
* e,g, two from their standard offerings of CSR63 7AP and CSR63 7BP would give you nearly exactly what you asked for, and if you shop around you might not even need to get them from oz / abroad
hi all
dont want more gears, just some lower gears
and i dont want to be in 13, its just that im not fit enough yet to do the full course in 11 and i have no 12thats why im looking for a combination with 11 and 12 (but i dont think a combination of 52 front and 13 rear is too shabby for a beginer anyway)
I meant to manufacturer but that is probably 10T. I also recall reading that 11T is less efficient than 12T due to power transfer problems on smaller sprockets.
Maybe it is manufacturers 'moving us on' with 8 speed and less now designated for leisure riders.
I slightly recall my old 8 speed cassettes had a cluster of something like 5 with the smallest 3 a separate piece.
My new ones have a cluster of 7 with only the 11T being a separate piece.
Historically old style 7 speed freewheels started at 13. 12T is rarer and 8 speed deemed problematic.
