That's what it is here today! The last few days have seen Mediterranean temperatures in these parts while the tennis in Paris and France in general has been a wash out. You lot on the east side of Britain, is it still dull and cool?

Only because they wanted to faff about and change it.For us old farts Fahrenheit is where it's at...and no I couldn't spell it properly.

This must be that heat wave they promised us. It's going to be the hottest summer ever, apparently*.

Which is typical as I've got to go to that there Laaarndan tomorrow - no doubt on an East Coast train with no air-conditioning.


* - unlike the "barbecue" summer a couple of years ago where it rained for 8 weeks....

Cant say sweating my bawlox off on the commute or while at work is my idea of fun.

The funny thing is I realise I can deal with Celsius as with Fahrenheit as it's been sneaked on me and I got used to using it.(Still spelt Fahrenheit wrong looks like I missed out the (h)...spellchecker pulled me up again.

Was cool and cloudy first thing this morning. For our normal Sunday morning ride with our lass I had fingered gloves, bikesters and a long sleeve jersey on. By the time I went out this afternoon for a quick spin it was very warm and out in SS top and shorts.

One day of sun shine and my stupid neighbour has the sprinkler on the lawn as I type.
It has been raining and cold all week, the lawn is more likely to be water logged than dry.

I'm glad i didn't go on the 105 mile CTC run to Sedbergh in Cumbria today. I was up early and thought about it but the weather forecast put me off. I would've wilted in that predicted heat and my legs ache and swell when we have such unusual temperatures. I did go out for a short ride about 7 pm and it was still too warm. I'm not used to breathing in such warm air and sweating while riding!

My Garmin was registering 85 degrees f while out on a ride today, I think that was a bit optimistic, more like 74 degrees which is what my outdoor thermometer ( in the shade) was telling me. Still a lot better than the low to mid 50s we've had here for a week or so.
