What would you do if the belt snapped while out on a ride?
With a chain you can throw in a spare link or just re-join the ends with a chain tool.
With a belt you would need to carry a spare belt and the tools to take apart the frame.

If he sells his handlebar collection he would be half way there :wacko:

Harsh mate, harsh:biggrin: I'd carry a spare belt like I do tubes, if two went it would be a toughie. Maybe they could do a cheapo, get you home, rubberised one for carrying. It would all be about takeup, if it gets popular enough then spares would be readily available. One thing that has been achieved is agreed standardisation for belt, cog and ring widths.
